Your gift is doubled!
Give future educators the opportunity to gain global perspective through a cultural immersion experience in Scotland. This experience deepens empathy, strengthens inclusive practices, and elevates their future classrooms.
Thanks to a generous $25,000 matching challenge from Vicki Lord Larson and James Larson, your gift will be doubled, creating even greater impact for students preparing to serve learners of all abilities.

Below are examples of expenses that students incur on their 5 week immersion trip in Scotland. Donations to the Scotland Immersion Support Fund can help offset some of these costs for our students!

The individual growth I witnessed in Scotland was just joyful. The growing confidence in their ability to be a teacher was evident when they made relationships with their students and host teachers. Based on these relationships, they wove their placements’ approaches with the skills and strategies they learned in their UWEC courses.
One of the most powerful moments was the growth in “thinking like a teacher” when we would sit in class and discuss what they found valuable and what they would change based on the different educational approaches.
There are few experiences in life which these kinds of changes occur, and the Special Education in Scotland Program is one of these special opportunities. Let’s keep the program going!
